Ever wish you could play microcassette tapes in a normal cassette player? You can with the Sony MR-40(A) Microcassette Adaptor from 1977... but only in some types of cassette players. It was also sold by Dictaphone and Lanier.
A much more compact adapter, which could fit the microcassette entirely within the shell of a normal cassette, was patented by Craig Staub in the early 1990s, but I don't think it was ever manufactured: https://patents.google.com/patent/US5280400
And Olympus patented a microcassette to minicassette adapter, but it also apparently never reached production: https://patents.google.com/patent/US4183477
